Long Beach’s favorite season is upon us and that means plenty of summer fun is heading our way. During First Fridays Summer Session we are welcoming summer to the city with fun happenings from a jump rope extraordinaire to s’mores to Prince tributes to juggling ice cream men. On June 3, Bixby Knolls has everything you need to start summer with a bang!
•The Expo Art Center will host a variety of artists with various mediums on First Fridays. The main room will host some of our favorite local artists from Squeeze Art Collective, FA4 Collective, and the United Cambodian Community.
– In the back theatre, the poets will impress you with their spoken word performances through out the night. The Kids Theatre Company will be performing previews from their upcoming show, Hairspray, in TKTC theatre. Show starts at 7pm!
-Toaster Music will perform in the north gallery of Expo Arts Center along side Maha & Company. This months featured artist is Stephen Canthal. The south gallery will host a group show with featured artists Romina Del Castillo, Camille Bryant, and Noel Madrid.
-Come see the opening exhibit for our very talented First Fridays Photo Intern, Lauren Kovacik. The CSULB student has been documenting the event since November and has chosen her favorite photographs to display to the public.
•Stop by Secrets of the Island, our newest spa at 3821 Atlantic Ave., for a free 10 minute chair massage!
–Wish Melinda McCoys Flower Shop a very happy 32nd anniversary! She will be celebrating with an Elvis impersonator, treats, and music by Rock for Vets!
•We are welcoming our newest mural, in partnership with Fire Dragons Camp Fire Club (a member of the Long Beach Camp Fire Association), to the neighborhood on the wall of Alsace Lorraine at 4334 Atlantic Avenue. Pop by to see the brand new project and even take part in your own art project with our FREE spin art station!
• AndyLiz hosts Pack 32 for the rest of the summer as they roast up tasty s’mores for FREE on the corner of Roosevelt and Atlantic! Also, don’t forget to pop into their shop for a new summer wardrobe!

•MOVE will honor the late great Prince with a set devoted to the lost genius.

•Stop by Jammin’ Music for their monthly student showcase and jam session!
•The Cog and Crank will host the amazing work of Alan Arch Reyes.
•Free Spirit Yoga will feature the art of Kia Kelliebrew and beats will be provided by Eusebio Akasa and Desirable D.
•Drop into the Allery for our 5th art installation. This round’s featured artist is Cynthia Lujan. Also in the allery, DJ Bix will be spinning the hits.
•Drop the kids off at Digital Revolution for their First Fridays Minecraft work shop for only $25! Spaces are limited.
•Learn to dance with trained salsa dancers at Elise’s Tea Room for their monthly First Fridays dance party.

Stay out late and continue the energy Dine on Art-Lantic Avenue at one of our tasty restaurants then grab the trolley that will transport you venue to venue from designated stops at the participating businesses.
