First Fridays Holiday Edition


This First Fridays we are kicking off the holiday season with music, Santa Claus, art, poetry, elves, candy canes, and tree lightincommunity!

  • Join us for our 9th Annual Tree and Menorah Lighting which has relocated to Expo Arts Center (4321 Atlantic Avenue) with music by the Tall Walls Holiday Chamber Rock Group! Ceremony begins at 6pm.
  • First Bank will host Santa Claus at Carson and Atlantic. Stop in to take a photo with good ole Saint Nick!
  • Coca Stops: AndyLiz, Boardwalk Realty, Free Spirit Yoga, Avery Boo Arts, Clover
  • Candy Cane Stops: Bella Pizza, Pixie Toys, Recreation Fitness, Trance on Atlantic, EJ Malloys, Secrets of the Islands, The Better Half Boutique
  • Cider Stop: Twig & Willow
  • Grab hot tea and a seasonal scone at Elise’s Tea Room in between dance sets at their monthly dance lessons!
  • Take part in The Great Candy Cane Race at Recreation Fitness on Friday night! Stop by for details!
  • The Better Half Boutique will host the The Charles Dickens Christmas Carolers, Candy Cane coupons, and tasty holiday cookies!

  • Get your photo taken out front of Twig & Willow by the Porty the Foto Booth Bus and enjoy Coldwater Canyon Provisions, Long Beach Creamery, and beats by DJ Dave Zee!
  • Catch the Beat Theatre Pop-Up at Rivera Group with the special holiday beat score. Holiday refreshments will be provided by Rivera Group!
  • Start your night early at the Michelle Obama Library at 5:30p with Unplugged Poetry then catch the bus for FREE while enjoying even more poetry on your ride down to Bixby Knolls!
  • The entire Expo Arts will be taken over by the bi-annual Uptown Village Market complete with art, artisan goods, and a makers space.
  • The Cog & Crank will host the CSULB Animation Club!
  • Stop by Metropolitan Design to hear the Never Speak poets!MOVE xmas
  • Stop by Jammin’ Music for their monthly student showcase and jam session!
  • Pop into the First Fridays Night Market at Bixby and Atlantic. The market features artisan crafters, live music by John Dean, candy canes, and cocoa!
  • Drop the kids off at Digital Revolution for their First Fridays Minecraft work shop for only $25! Spaces are limited.
  • Have something on your mind? Join Sidewalk Talk during First Fridays. They are non profit organization specializing in simply listening while you talk.
  • Free Spirit Yoga will host a local artists Jamie Sanders and Susan Hawkins. Music will be provided by Anne Walsh.
  • The Homeland Cultural Center will be pop locking with the help of Dubs One spinning all the best hip-hop and R&B and the First Fridays spray crew providing the art on 3939 North. Don’t miss a chance to take your photo with the worlds greatest dancing GRINCH!
  • Drop into the Allery for its 7th art installation. This round features artist Daniel Echeveria. Also in the allery, Bobby Easton and friends will be jammin all their world hits!
  • TALB will host a night of community with Long Beach Free Store, arts & crafts for kids, candy canes, and cocoa.

When the businesses start to close, “First Fridays After Hours” begins. Weiland Brewery, Rasslebock, Willmore, The 4262, and EJ Malloy’s go late into the night with food, drinks, and music. Why go home early? Stay out late and continue the energy Dine on Art-Lantic Avenue at one of our tasty restaurants then grab the trolley that will transport you venue to venue from designated stops at the participating businesses.
